(Image: Chapter 26, Sandra comforts Bennie.) Chapter Twenty-Six is now up and running. Bennie and Sandra finally have a bonding moment.
I think I mentioned before a lot of Bennie and Sandra's mother-daughter dynamic stemmed from the strained relationship my own mum and I had, which, about that age, gave way to our now very strong relationship. Reaching this chapter was, and is, a point where I can breathe a sigh of relief. Bennie, like all girls her age, needs a good, strong woman in her life, and who better than her mother? It's also a growing point for Sandra, to know that Bennie is turning into a woman and needs her in a different way, and to face her own fears. On a more cheerful note, I'm happy to say after some unexpected delays, Shadowchild is now available on BookShare! If you or someone you know has a print or a vision disability that makes conventional reading difficult or even impossible, BookShare is an online library that provides reading material in accessible ways. Navigate to the Books tab for a link straight to the book's directory page. I'm also working on an audiobook version of Shadowchild but more on that later. ;) Stay tuned!
